Share your photos!

On this page you can upload photos to be included in a photo gallery of a recent event. You can only upload one file at a time, so it will be easier if you pack your photo files into a zip file and upload that zip file. Only files up to about 36 MB will be processed successfully. If you try to upload a file that is too large, you will get this error.

Please be patient with the upload! Large files can take many minutes, depending on your internet connection speed. (With my cable-modem connection, I can upload about 2.3 MB per minute.)

If you have more than one file to upload, give them different names! Otherwise, earlier files will be overwritten by later ones with the same name.

Please also tell us your name so we'll know who to acknowledge for sharing their photos with us!
In the Comments box, tell us what the photos are of (which ride or other event). Also use this area to supply captions for the individual photos if you would like them in the final photo gallery. Please do not change the photo filenames from what your camera gives them.

About zip files and how to create them

zip files are used to compress files (remove extra space to make them smaller), combine several files into one file, or both. For uploading files, we'll take advantage of the second use because .jpg files are already compressed so there is no or very little decrease in size after zipping them into a zip file.

To zip several files together under Windows XP or Vista, open an Explorer window to see the files, then select the ones you want to include. RIght-click to open the pop-up menu, select "Send To >" then "Compressed (zipped) Folder." A single new file will be created with the extension ".zip" that contains all the files you had selected. Upload that file using the above form.

Error Message when the file is too large

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.

If you get this message after several minutes, it's most likely because the file you tried to upload was too large. In this case, create a new zip file that contains fewer photo files and try uploading that.
