On the way up to Whister we took a detour part way up to Cypress Bowl to get a good view of Vancouver. Unfortunately the trees have grown up quite a bit since Steve was last here so the view is mostly blocked.

On the way back to Vancouver, we stopped at the Tantalus Range overlook. These first pictures are from Kevin

Now start Cheryl's pictures. This is the Vancouver overlook (blocked by trees) on the road to Cypress Bowl.

You can see a bit of Vancouver still over the trees

This is what we'll be doing when we're old and arthritic and can't bend our knees anymore

Steve and Kevin with Lexie, who met all our bike rental needs (demands?) with good cheer and a broad smile!

On the flight home, Steve gets a window seat. The penisula in the foreground is West Point Grey and the buildings are part of the University of British Columbia, close to where Steve grew up (or at least, grew older)

In the center is a good view of Howe Sound. Squamish, the halfway point to Whistler, is at the north end of the sound.

In Washington State we flew close to a mountain covered in snow, probably a volcano

|

Another volcano

|
 |
Two volcanos side by side?

Approaching LAX we flew over Thousand Oaks. Sycamore Canyon is dead center, with La Jolla Canyon to the right, then Point Hueneme at the right edge. The Dos Vientos development is partly visible above the wing
