Riding up the sand wash. We could ride about half of it; the rest was too soft so we pushed. It wasn't very steep but it went for a long way
At the "Desert Oasis," an old-fashioned SUV is abandoned
The Desert Oasis is the start of the Art Smith Trail, which we didn't take...
...It's also the start of the Hahn Trail, which we did take
From the apex of the Hahn Trail, you can see Palm Springs below
It was very very very windy here, and cold!
Michelle approaches the apex
PK tries the superman pose to see if the wind will pick him up
It's much warmer down here where the wind isn't so strong
PK and Michelle start down the Hahn Trail from the apex
The Hahn Trail runs just below the ridgeline, where there wasn't much protection from the wind...
...and then it switchbacks down the hill, where it was still windy
The Hahn Trail dumps us onto Dunn Road which ends just above Palm Springs
After the Dunn Rd ends, we take the "goat trails" down. They were aptly named!
At the bottom, they post a sign to keep out people who come down on the goat trails. In this case, it was a fruitless effort.
The end of the ride, after escaping (see fence behind us) from the industrial yard between the "gun range" and the street
Chow time!
