One of the connector trails we took was pretty rocky and hard to ride...
... time for a rest!
A few people like Jim were able to ride up part of this trail
Graham rode part of this, too, but he's got the camera pointed the wrong way to see him
It wasn't a very long trail so it only took a few minutes to push up it
After the rocky uphill push, we headed down the New Bridgegate Trail to a new plush community. At the bottom was this sign to keep people off the trail. hmm, this sign mentions no authority and is in the same colors as the other housing estate signs!
Riding back up the New Bridgegate Trail, Richard approaches a switchback near the top.
Here you can see the switchback. This one was a little tight, but not as tight as a couple down lower
This trail is also known as the Purple Rock trail because of some geology near the bottom
There's a second switchback very shortly up the trail. You can see a rider (Pete?) up above
And Norma
At the top, time for a snack break
From the top of the New Bridgegate Trail we can see the bottom of the Descent of Death. But we're not going that way, there's a much more fun way back!
Steve heads down the Old Bridgegate Trail to take photos of the others on the way down
Heading down into the valley again on the Old Bridgegate Trail, Pete leads the way
Joe loves this trail
Norma likes it too
And so does Shelia!
Looking down the trail, you can see where we're heading towards Westlake Village, just north of Potrero Road
What would the ride be without a few scrapes - Shelia does the honors!
We played like roadies for a few blocks to get to the bottom of the next trail, the Brookview Trail
From the Brookview Trailhead we can see Triunfo Community Park where are cars are waiting for us
Our cars are hiding behind the trees - those ones don't have any bike racks. They don't know what they're missing!
