NEWS FOR EVERYONE

Saturday, February 23: CORBA Trail Work Day.   Come out and help build and fix up the trails we love to ride! It feels great to ride a trail you've helped build and maintain. For more information, visit the CORBA Trail Crew page. Work days usually last until about 2:00. Be sure to wear suitable clothing (sturdy shoes, long pants and sleeves, hat, GLOVES) and bring snacks, sunscreen and WATER. CORBA will provide the tools and training.

Remember that CORBA will spring for lunch after the event and gives away great swag to volunteers who register beforehand! Time: 8:30 am.

We'll be working on the segment of the Backbone Trail between Kanan Rd and Zuma Ridge Mtwy, mostly removing overgrowing brush. We meet at 8:30 at the dirt pullout overflow parking area about 1/2 miles north of Tunnel 1, then shuttle to the other end of the trail, so don't be late!

Pre-registration is requested so that CORBA will know how many tools to bring:
http://www.meetup.com/CORBAmtb/events/101081172/

Directions: From the 101 Freeway in Agoura, drive south on Kanan Road 7.6 miles and pull into the dirt parking at the right side of the road. If you reach the paved Backbone Trail parking area, or Tunnel 1, you've gone about ½ miles too far.

From the PCH, turn north onto Kanan Dume Rd and drive 4.7 miles to the dirt parking area on the left, about ½ miles after Tunnel 1.

Saturday, February 16: Backbone @ Kanan w/ Two Out & Backs to Zuma Ridge & Corral Cyn (Int & Adv).   This ride is a combination of two out & back rides that is on 100% singletrack and is 200% fun. This ride will have both an advanced and intermediate option depending on when you start the ride. The advanced group will start at the posted ride time and ride the 1st out & back section of the Backbone Trail over to the Zuma Ridge Motorway. At the top we’ll continue across the Los Robles Singletrack until we get to the picnic table. After our break it’s time to catch some thrills as we make our way down the Rosewood Singletrack to Lynn Road. After a short jaunt on pavement we are back on dirt again. This portion of the trail has a few ups and downs and connects with the whoop-de-doo trail that leads back to the cars. Meet at 9:30 am and be ready to depart 15 minutes later.

You can stick to the main fireroad or try out the tougher parallel singletrack sections. After a short jaunt on the pavement of the Mountaingate community we'll take the Kenter fireroad to the start of the Whoops. This fun 3/4 mile downhill section is loaded with fun features and jumps. (Jumps are optional, fun is not!) A short(1/2 mile) but steep fireroad climb returns us to the top of the Whoops.
